Maize price to remain high across East Africa

Only last week, Prime Minister Raila Odinga revealed plans by the government to roll out a programme that would see thousands of households vulnerable to the food crisis get monthly allowances.
In the initiative, Sh600 million would be used to guarantee poor households in major towns of Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa a constant supply of food.
